Dances for the mill 2024

A unique dance art experience in the historic surroundings of Strömsbergs Bruk.

Together with dancers and choreographers active regionally, nationally and internationally, we remind ourselves of the first Swedish industry and the handling of iron, where the dance artists create inviting choreographies and installations in harmony with the place.

In a troubled time, we turn to the human body and its relationship to its environment. We slow down, let the eye rest in the space between body and place, and allow ourselves to float between present and past to reframe our future. Can Strömsbergs Bruk, as a memorial, help us place what we still know nothing about?

Among the participants are Rachel Tess (USA/SE), recipient of the Cullberg scholarship 2019, and Elinor Trollerz Bratteby (SE), fellow at Movement Research New York, 2023.

The project is initiated by choreographer and dancer Anna Pehrsson in collaboration with Strömsbergs Bruk, Tierp Municipality and Region Uppsala.
