Gottfrid Skytts Carpentry Lövstabruk
The carpentry workshops in Lövstabruk were located east of the Risforsån river during the 17th and 19th centuries, north of the Lower Mill where the Children's Mill is today housed. The carpenter genus Skytt worked there for several generations.
From 1927-28 Gottfrid Skytt (1895-1975) leased the workshop now known as Gottfrid Skytts Snickeri. Gottfrid himself had studied with a master Jespersson in Stockholm 1917-18 and at the same time attended an evening school where furniture design drawing was an important subject. In 1918 he conducted a group exam in the form of a jalousie cabinet, which Master Jespersson was deeply impressed with.
When Gottfrid returned to Lövstabruk he continued to work in the old joinery factory, but from 1927-28 he started the joinery workshop where you can see it today. He had 8 employees and often also younger boys who were employed for shorter periods.
