Auction in Västland

Wessland's old foundry where the auction is held

Auction with tradition

This summer, an old tradition resumes. Just over 30 years ago, auctions were regularly arranged in Wessland's old foundry, which is located on the farm Lugnet in the village of Bolstan, a stone's throw from Västland's church.
Now the new owners of the foundry are taking up the tradition.

  • We moved here just over a year ago and many people tell us about the auctions here on the farm in the old days. It sparked this idea, says Mats Brolin, who owns Lugnet together with his partner Deniz Caglar.
On Saturday, July 6, an auction will be arranged in collaboration with Leufsta auctions. The auction starts at 1pm and is expected to last until 5pm. Show, activities and food from 11am.
Co-organizer is also Strömsberg's café, which offers coffee and outdoor grilling for children and adults.
Sheep graze in the paddocks around the old foundry where the auction is held. Some of them are extra willing to be petted by children. Eva Wennberg, who takes care of the sheep and runs Västland ceramics in one of the houses on the farm, has pottery painting for the children. Västlands Hembygdsförening participates with, among other things, a lottery.
There will be plenty of parking in one of the paddocks and shelter if it rains, inside the main foundry building and in the adjacent old foundry office.
The auction will include around 400 bids with old household items, furniture, toys, tools, machines and much more.
