About Church of Tierp
In Kyrkbyn, out on the plain by road 600 a few kilometers south of Tierp, rises the large dazzling white church. Church of Tierp was built in the 14th century and is one of the largest rural churches in Uppland. The church was built not far from the old place of worship Torslunda and near other villages named after asa gods, for example Ullfors and Odensfors. Around 1470, the church got its beautiful frescoes by the so-called Tierp Master.
The church is carefully renovated to function in our time. At the back of the church there is a space with access to a little kitchen which for example is used for coffee after sermon and other meetings.
