A small-scale fishing

Hållstrand´s fish is Sweden's southern sour herring saltery (2008).
Since 2004, we have been producing a high-quality sour herring and we are one of few producers in Sweden that fishes our own herring, which we then salt and add.

Farm shop

In our farm shop, in addition to sour herring, you will also find chimney sweeps and salt herring, among other things. We also have a smokehouse on the farm and sell buckwheat, pepper salmon and rainbow trout, among other things. The supply of fresh and smoked fish depends entirely on the dividend the fishery has given.

Smokehouse

The smokehouse is Lars-Ivan's second home. During the season, a large part of the waking time is spent in front of the smoke ovens. To smoke fish is a sensitive process and if you are not vigilant, the entire batch of fishes can be lost. A batch of fish takes about six hours to smoke, before that the fish is in brine for about three hours.

Lars-Ivan is the third generation professional fisherman named Hållstrand, who has his home port in Hästskär. We always strive to have the highest quality of our products. A small-scale fishing with very little environmental impact.
